blu ray + game console for only 299 September 23, 2009 John Magnotti (Houston, TX) this is currently the most full-feature BD device out there. And it happens to play a bunch of great games. For [...] you can get a remote that goes with it to make it more like a BD player.

PS3 Slim is awesome September 23, 2009 Casey Jones (Chico, CA) Way better and way smaller than the old fat one. I don't regret buying this at all.
i love it! September 22, 2009 mantronik (USA) i used to own the original 60gb version with backwards compatability, and i sold my 80gb one to make way for the 'Slim'.
the 'slim' is what it should've been when they first released the PS3!
btw, backwards compatability is not an issue with me, i never went back to play any PS2 games. that's just me though.
PS3 slim review September 22, 2009 Christo (Singapore) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was among the first to purchase the PS3 slim. To be succint these are my likes/dislikes in bullet points:
I like:
- The smaller form factor
- It's very quiet (compared to the Xbox 360)
- There is not huge adaptor (only a cable that runs directly from the system to the power point)
- Pleasant interface
- It can stream almost any content (except DRM media) from my HP mediasmart homeserver
- That there is a webrowser
- That one can upgrade the harddrive
I dislike (or like less, cuz they're not show stoppers)
- The relatively low loading of blue ray (from the moment you put it in to the moment it actually starts playing)
- That it only has 2 usb ports and that both are in the front (I would have liked to have one or two in the back to connect the dongle for my wireless keyboard)
- The webrowser is nice to have, but not very fast and not too friendly. A more common safari/opera/IE would have been even nicer
- That it doesn't support SACD, PS2 games or even have the card readers the original model had
Overall, I'm very happy with this product. It has replaced the old dvd player that I had and I even took away my media center PC, much of the functions the PS3 can do. Together with my homeserver and sonos, this is a great addition to my audio/video stack.
