 Holds up to big bunny play May 20, 2010

I got a baby english lop rabbit a couple of weeks ago, and until he's litter box trained i've been keeping him in this pen with the the mat. I was worried that he would be able to dig through it but so far it's been totally resistant to his destructive attempts, and he's BIG. I put a bowl of water in his cage at night so the clicking of the water bottle doesn't keep me up, and when he spills it i can just wipe it right up! When it starts to get gross i just sweep it out and then use some bunny safe cleaner to wipe it out. The biggest plus to this containment system is definitely the ease of cleaning and durability, though i do have to shake the edges of the mat when i clean it because poop gets trapped between the walls of the cage and the edge of the mat. But hey, it's a bunny-proof containment system and i am very satisfied :)

My rabbits chewed this to shreds. I was counting on making the playpen & mat their new home, but within days, it is pretty much out of commission. My rabbits have plenty of other things to chew, but the velcro straps were an easy target for them. I would not suggest this if you have a pet that likes to chew.

I originally bought this to use on top of the pen outside. This Winter was so cold that I kept my bunny inside in the pen with the mat on the floor, covered with a layer of pine shavings. It made the pen a great indoor habitat. I'm ordering an additional one to use on top when I move the pen outside for my bunny to have an occasional romp in the grass. The mat is also easy to clean; I hose it down and let it air dry on the clothes line.
