The two biggest selling points of this TV is that you can plug in an external antenna and you can power this TV with regular AA batteries (with the purchase of a separate Docking Station).
This had features that most portable digital TV's don't have. I can plug any type antenna or cable connection(probably Satelite too) to this TV to improve reception. There are also multiple ways to power this little TV so it is always available for use: regular house electric, car cigarette lighter plug, built in rechargeable battery and six AA batteries ( using the Dock sold separate). TV has Closed Caption. Nice clear picture. Decent sound. If you live in a remote area, you aren't going to get many channels with the little antenna that comes with the TV. I have noticed that alot of times when our electric goes off, the cable service is still on, so I just hook my cable up to the Tivax and still have TV in the dark. I recommend you buy the Dock so you can power this TV after your rechargeable battery drains off. Another nice feature was getting the car charger with the TV so I didn't have to figure out what kind to buy. I did have to return the first TV I bought because after the 3rd use, it quit operating. The company was easy to work with and replaced the TV very quickly. I can only assume at this point that the product is good, I just got a faulty TV.

The picture quality is great. Even though it is not as small as I would prefer, but it does the job well. I can't wait to take it with me when I travel in the summer!

The sole purpose of my purchasing this product, is to afford me an opportunity to watch sports and news when I camp out. Accordingly, it is very important that battery life is good.
The tv only takes one type of battery. It is a Li-ion battery, which comes with the tv. It is a unique battery, and I have been unable to find it available anywhere. It lasts approximately 90 minutes at best, before needing recharging.
I contaced Tivax to purchase several batteries, since I am frequently out in the woods for several days at a time. They do not have this battery on their site. I spoke with their "sales" department, and was advised that they do not sell the battery for the tv. Astonishingly, he told me to PURCHASE A GENERATOR and bring that along for my trip!!!. What's wrong with this picuture? a 3.5" portable tv that fits in your product, and a thirty pound generator to run it!
Based up this issue, the tv is worthless. I would have given it a lower rating, but a "0" is not an option.

This thing is a POS heres why:
Its bulky- its about 1.5inches thick also the 3.5'screen is surrounded by 1.25inches of border space on top of that the antenna isnt built in and and its semi big. "so small its fits in your pocket" ppppffffftttt.
the antenna sucks- i live in brooklyn ny theres plenty of digital stations here but this thing only picks up 5 whereas my tv picked up around 40. on top of that this thing only works outside once your inside you cant get a signal. i went inside with only 1 4" brick wall separating me from the out doors and nothing. now i know you can buy a better antenna but it would probably be big and would ruin this things portability.
unless your prepare to buy a better antenna and use it outdoors only such as for camping dont buy it and even if you are going to use it outdoors only still dont buy it. this thing is far from small so you might as well buy one with a bigger screen and less border space around the screen.
this product is being refunded as i speak.

Quality picture. Easy to set up and program. Light weight. Reception is dependent on location and position of the antenna of course. I picked up 27 channels. Sound is good but the speaker holes are in the back so don't block it or the vent holes.
I wish it had a stand.
